Data Retention Policy

Business records are retained for the period required by HMRC, typically 6 years from the end of the relevant tax year.

When you delete your account

Deletion is a soft delete with a 30-day grace window. Requesting deletion from Settings signs you out and marks the account for erasure. During that window you (or our support team) can cancel the request and everything is restored. After 30 days your profile, business data, receipts, mileage records and exports are permanently removed, except where a specific record must be retained by law (for example, a subscription invoice needed for HMRC records) — in which case only that minimum is kept for its statutory period.

Portability

Before deleting, you can download every record we hold against your account as a JSON file from Settings → Download my data.
